David Le Couteur

David Le Couteur is Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Sydney, Senior Staff Geriatrician at Concord Hospital, and an NHMRC L3 Leadership Fellow at the ANZAC Research Institute.

Since completing his PhD on the ageing liver in 1993, he has maintained a longstanding research focus on how ageing affects hepatic structure and function, with particular emphasis on the cells of the hepatic sinusoid. He is a lead investigator in the Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project and served as Co-Editor of the Journal of Gerontology Biological Sciences from 2018 to 2022.
